Other
For requests that require sponsor approval, but do not fit into one of the predefined request types currently available in GMAS, the Other request type can be used. Please review the available request types and avoid using the Other request type when another option is appropriate.
Examples of when to use Other request type:
- Updates to Other Support disclosures requiring submission to sponsor
- Changes in scope
- Prior Approvals without an existing GMAS request type
- Addition of human or animal research
- Non-NIH Closeout documents (all documents routed as a single Other request), including but not limited to Final Technical Reports requiring AOR signature, Patent/Invention Reports, Property Reports, and NIH X-Train Termination forms
- Other requests requiring AOR signature or submission to sponsor that do not already have a specific GMAS request type
When not to use:
- Changes that do not require AOR approval or sponsor prior approval
- Before an award is made active in GMAS
- Interim progress reports requiring AOR signature - these should be routed as continuation requests
- New subawards or sub-amendments
- Requests that already have a specific GMAS request type
Other Request Roles and Responsibilities
- Departments hold primary responsibility for entering information in GMAS to formally make a request
- The Central Office AOR submits the request to the sponsor and/or initiates a revision in GMAS as appropriate
For questions about when to use the Other request type, please contact your Central Administrator.
