Financial Conflict of Interest

Overview

The Financial Conflict of Interest policy provides guidance for school deans, faculty and other individuals holding teaching appointments, in identifying, evaluating, and managing outside activities and conflicts of interest.

Policy and Guidance

Proposal Stage

Public Health Services (PHS) proposals and proposals funded by organizations that comply with PHS rules must have current outside activity and interest reports on file (within 12 months prior to proposal) for all Investigators before proposals may be submitted in GMAS. At award stage, all Investigators on PHS projects and projects funded by organizations that comply with PHS rules must have a research-specific certification reviewed by the institution – prior to award set up in GMAS.

Non-PHS proposals do not have these requirements but may be subject to school-specific requirements.
