Action Memo

An Action Memo is the official communication regarding a sponsored notice of award that has been authorized by the University. It summarizes the award terms and conditions allowed by the sponsor which include obligated and anticipated dates and dollars to be allocated to the applicable accounts. The Action Memo is also used to communicate authorized internal requests and administrative changes.

Action Memos are created in GMAS by OSP Pre-Award Operations based on direction of the Awards Management Team. Upon commitment/approval of the action, the action memo is distributed by GMAS to the project administrative team who will have responsibility for managing the award. Additional recipients may be added at the time the action memo is generated.
