CV/Bio Sketch
Overview
A Biographical Sketch (Biosketch) or Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a document that summarizes the professional and academic background of the Principal Investigator (PI) and other key personnel listed on a proposal.
These documents typically include:
- Professional and academic appointments
- Honors and awards
- Scholarships and research funding received
- Publications and other scholarly work
Sponsor requirements vary, and it is important to follow the specific instructions provided by each sponsor when preparing and submitting a CV or biosketch. Many non-federal sponsors request that PIs use either the NIH or NSF biosketch format.
In addition, many federal sponsors now require biosketches and CVs to include:
- Attestations related to Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs, and Research Security Training
- A digital certification by the Senior/Key Personnel affirming the accuracy and completeness of the information.
