Final Project Narrative

A Final Project Narrative covers the entire grant period and is filed at the end of the award. For multiyear projects, it takes the place of the Annual Project Narrative in the last year of the award. If the project is one year or less, you will file only a Final Project Narrative. These reports are typically due within 90 days of the end date of the award.

The report is a substantive record of the accomplishments of the project, how the PI met the goals set forth in the proposal, and the activities conducted to reach these accomplishments. The report length and content vary depending on the sponsor.

The PI is responsible for the submission of all narrative reports required under the terms of an award. The Department should be familiar with the sponsor form and required content.

Failure on the part of the PI to deliver any required narrative reports or deliverables to the sponsor in a timely manner may affect the collection of funds for the project and future funding from that sponsor to the University.
