NIH Non-Financial Deliverables in GMAS

OSP Research Finance will begin entering non-financial deliverables in GMAS for NIH grants and cooperative agreements on November 4, 2024. 

NIH Non-Financial Deliverables that will be entered in GMAS include:

• Annual RPPRs
• Final technical/progress reports
• Final invention statements 

Why the Change?

• Increased sponsor scrutiny on late non-financial reports, including threats to terminate funding or withhold funding from the recipient organization
• Reduce administrative burden for departments because OSP Research Finance will enter NIH non-financial deliverables in GMAS on their behalf
• Final non-financial reports are not currently captured in GMAS

What’s Changing?

• OSP Research Finance will schedule NIH non-financial deliverables in GMAS
• New/enhanced “types” of non-financial deliverables now available in GMAS release
• Continuation request drafts will automatically be initiated in GMAS for NIH Annual RPPRs

When?

• Active NIH grants and cooperative agreements with anticipated future funding will have any future non-financial deliverables automatically added to GMAS by HUIT on November 1st (NOTE: reports with due dates in the past will not be added)
• Monday November 4th, OSP Research Finance will enter non-financial deliverables for new NIH grants and cooperative agreements
