New online course: An Introduction to Export Control Laws and Regulations

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research, in conjunction with the University Export Control Council, has recently launched a new online course titled An Introduction to Export Control Laws and Regulations. This 30-minute course provides both administrators and researchers with an overview of export control laws and regulations, and how they may impact University research activities.

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Defining export controls, their purpose, and examples of situations at the University which may fall under export control regulations
  • Exclusions to export control laws and regulations
  • Trade sanctions, restrictions, and the screening process, and
  • Harvard’s Export Control Program and resources for help
