The Office of the Vice Provost for Research, in conjunction with the University Export Control Council, has recently launched a new online course titled An Introduction to Export Control Laws and Regulations. This 30-minute course provides both administrators and researchers with an overview of export control laws and regulations, and how they may impact University research activities.
Topics covered in the course include:
- Defining export controls, their purpose, and examples of situations at the University which may fall under export control regulations
- Exclusions to export control laws and regulations
- Trade sanctions, restrictions, and the screening process, and
- Harvard’s Export Control Program and resources for help
