SciENcv Resources
What is SciENcv?
SciENcv is a free, online tool for researchers to create and maintain compliant biosketches and current and pending support documents. Powered by NCBI, it streamlines the process by pulling data from ORCID iD, My Bibliography, and eRA Commons. Below is a list of resources to assist with account set up, delegates, and integrating data to populate the biosketch and other support documents required at proposal stage.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Biographical Sketch
Overview
A Biographical Sketch (Biosketch) or Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a document that summarizes the professional and academic background of the Principal Investigator (PI) and other key personnel listed on a proposal.
Current & Pending (C&P)/Other Support
Overview
Current and Pending Support/Other Support documents are required by most federal sponsors and some non-federal sponsors. These forms disclose resources made available to support key personnel’s research for active projects and projects pending review. This information may be required at the proposal stage, at the Just in Time (JIT) phase, or sometimes both. Updates may also be required as part of the annual reporting process, or when new sources of support are added. Resources required to be disclosed may include monetary resources, in kind, or those with no monetary value. Each sponsor has their own requirements and instructions that must be followed.
Many federal sponsors now require these forms to contain attestations regarding Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs, Research Security Training, as well as a digital signature from the covered Senior/Key Personnel completing the form.
The NSF and NIH require the use of SciENcv to generate these documents.
