The False Claims Act (FCA) provides for treble damages plus penalties and is the principal enforcement mechanism used by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to pursue civil fraud perpetrated against the government. This webinar provides an overview and introduction to the FCA, as well as information that will help individuals, universities, companies and organizations understand and mitigate their risk under the FCA. It will also discuss protections and rights afforded to whistleblowers that all institutions should be aware of. Finally, it will take a deeper look into some of the noteworthy FCA cases brought against universities and identify trends and lessons learned from these cases.
