Subrecipient Monitoring: Informational Session and a Review of Available Resources

March 13th, 2020 / 1:00pm-2:30pm / Cambridge, Lamont Library, Forum Room information)

Description:

In this session we will provide an overview of subrecipient monitoring at Harvard. Topics to be included are:

  • University Subrecipient Monitoring Policy
  • GMAS navigation for organization assessments
  • Resources in the Toolkit
  • Quarterly Review Process

Intended Audience:

This session is strongly recommended for all grants management staff responsible for reviewing subaward invoices/financial reports, processing subaward payments and reporting on subawards. The session will focus on the administrative aspects of subrecipient monitoring. This session is meant to be highly interactive, please bring any unique scenarios and questions to the session. *Please note: The content presented at these sessions will be the same for the Longwood and Cambridge offerings.*

Overview of Sponsored Programs Administration Training

Description:

The Sponsored Projects Overview is the foundation of the University Research Administration Training Team’s (URATT) course offerings.  This full day session, offered quarterly, involves facilitation and participants from across the University, covers basic information on Harvard research administration policies, procedures, the award lifecycle, regulatory compliance, and also provides resources and contacts for future use. Workshop attendance is limited to 40.

Intended audience:

Staff members with less than one year of experience in research administration at Harvard or anyone who would like a review of or a University-wide perspective on sponsored projects.

GMAS Basics and Requests Training

  • Day 1 - March 26th, 2020, 9:30am-12:00pm, Cambridge, 8 Story Street, Room B50 (basement computer lab)
  • Day 2 - March 27th, 2020, 9:30am-12:00pm, Cambridge, 8 Story Street, Room B50 (basement computer lab)

Description:

GMAS Basics and Requests training provides attendees with an introduction to Harvard’s Grants Management Application Suite (GMAS) and how it is used to manage sponsored projects. This offering has been restructured and broken into two sessions. The first session will focus on an overview of GMAS and basic navigation. The second session will focus on GMAS requests. NCURA Webinar: Financial Post-Award Essentials Virtual Workshop

OSP has purchased the NCURA Webinar: Financial Post-Award Essentials Virtual Workshop. We will offer this online to for staff to view/take as an online course in the Harvard Training Portal. We will communicate out via the OSP Blog when this course will be available and open for registration.

Description:

The Financial Post-Award Essentials workshop will cover various areas of research financial management including internal controls, financial business processes, facilities and administration costs, audit and compliance supplement requirements. This workshop will provide information on financial Post-Award research administration through a combination of lecture, case studies and discussion of shared experiences and best practices.
