Reminder: Upcoming Live Zoom Training – Analyzing Cost Principles

Dear Research Administrators,

This is a reminder that the Analyzing Cost Principles training session is happening next Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in a live virtual format on Zoom.

This course incorporates activities and case studies to help participants think through complex questions regarding allowability of costs on federal awards and how non-compliance with cost principles can lead to audit findings. Activities include budget analysis, allowability Q&A, and an audit case study.

Learning Objectives:

• Apply cost principles and knowledge of the regulatory framework and internal controls to ensure responsible spending
• Identify and interpret appropriate policies and guidelines to ensure expenditure compliance
• Anticipate problematic costs to prevent audit findings

Audience: Research Administrators

Pre-Requisites: We strongly recommend completing Cost Principles and Direct Costs on Sponsored Awards (University-wide) prior to attending. Please note, this is not a foundational course, and participation is essential to achieving the learning objectives.
