GMAS Basics and Requests Online Training

Description: This online class is an introduction to Harvard’s Grants Management Application Suite (GMAS) and how it is used to manage sponsored projects. This course is recommended for all new staff in Research Administration. In order to get a completion status for this class, you must view each video in it's entirety and complete the quiz at the end of each section. The sections are broken down into six modules. Each module contains video(s) and varies in length. The total time to complete all sections and the quiz is approx.

  • Basic system navigation
  • Overview of the content housed within the system
  • How to access different project data elements
  • Portfolio management tools
  • Project creation using the request guided steps
  • How to route proposals for review and sign off
  • Review of all the request types available and guidance on when they should be used
