Alert for NIH Fellowship Parent Funding Opportunities with Due Dates on April 8 and May 7, 2025

NIH was unable to reissue the NIH parent fellowship funding opportunities to use the new review criteria, FORMS-I forms, and FORMS-I application instructions in time for the April 8 and May 7 (AIDS and AIDS-related Application) due dates.

Candidates applying to a parent Fellowship opportunity (PA-23-260, PA-23-261, PA-23-262, PA-23-263, PA-23-272) must use FORMS-H application forms and FORMS-H instructions.

Candidates applying to a non-parent Fellowship opportunity (e.g., PAR-25-234, PAR-25-250, PAR-23-109, RFA-OD-24-007, or PAR-25-021) must use FORMS-I application forms and FORMS-I instructions.

NIH has provided links to helpful resources outlining the differences between FORMS-H and FORMS-I instructions and review criteria. Check the Related Notices section of each FOA. There should be a notitice posted here if FORMS-H instructions must be used for the April 8 and May 7 deadlines instead of the standard FORMS-I instructions that are in effect for all other applications due on or after January 25, 2025.

Bio Sketches

FORMS-H Applications (Parent FOAs)

NIH will accept candidate bio sketches with or without Section D – Scholastic Performance for applications submitted using FORMS-H.

FORMS-I Applications (Non-Parent FOAs)

Bio Sketches submitted with applications required to use FORMS-I must not include information on grades or scholastic performance. Inclusion of this information is non-compliant and may be cause for rejection.
