NIH Notice: Salary Cap Increase Effective January 7, 2018

On March 7, 2018, NIH released NOT-OD-18-137, which gave notice of the NIH new salary cap effective January 7, 2018. The cap increases to $189,600.
The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018, restricts the amount of direct salary to Executive Level II of the Federal Executive pay scale. NSF-PAR Expansion to Allow NSF Authors to Retrieve Submitted Department of Energy Manuscripts to Meet NSF’s Public Access Requirement

Please see the below message from NSF for an interesting update about an NSF Public Access Repository (NSF-PAR) expansion:

Beginning on March 26, 2018, NSF authors who are jointly funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy (DOE) can retrieve previously submitted final manuscripts from the DOE system and pull them into NSF-PAR to meet NSF’s Public Access requirement. NSF Announcement: Research.gov Proposal Preparation Site Preview; Site Release Will Be on April 30th

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is pleased to announce that beginning on April 30, 2018, proposers will be able to prepare and submit full, research non-collaborative proposals in Research.gov. The initial release of this new Research.gov capability will run in parallel with existing FastLane proposal preparation and submission capabilities, so proposers can choose to prepare and submit full, research non-collaborative proposals in Research.gov or in FastLane starting on April 30, 2018.
