The Direct Charging of Administrative and Clerical Salaries to Federal Awards Policy and Procedures have been revised. The revisions shift responsibility for monitoring administrative salaries directly charged to federal awards away from the Operations and Policy Committee and school/tub-level contacts to OSP Research Finance. The policy will be effective for admin salary transactions after July 1, 2017. Note that FY17 Q4 reviews will be the final round of school/tub-level quarterly reviews following the previous policy and procedures.
Other key changes include the following:
- Require relevant documentation of approved admin salaries to be included in GMAS (see Procedures)
- Flagging admin salaries approval in GMAS during proposal preparation is responsibility of PI/Departments
- Added new roles and responsibilities for OSP Research Finance
- Streamlined policy to remove procedures in lieu of the separate Procedures document.
