New HHS Salary Cap, Effective January 5, 2020

On January 13, 2020, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) released NOT-HS-20-006 which gave notice of the HHS new salary cap effective January 5, 2020. The cap increases to $197,300.

ORCID iD

ORCID iDs are required for PIs on individual fellowship and career development applications submitted for due dates on or after January 25, 2020. Fellowship or career development award applicants must register for an ORCID iD and link it to their eRA Commons personal profile.

Federal Work Study on Sponsored Awards Policy

We write with a reminder that the Federal Work Study Policy against using federal grants to fund the institutional share of the Federal Work Study (FWS) program took effect on January 1, 2020. Any FWS charges on federal awards between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 will have to be manually certified or moved from the federal award to a non-federal funding source. FWS charges should not appear on federal awards after January 1, 2020.
