Changes coming to Cost Sharing in GMAS

The GMAS team is working closely with the Cost Sharing Committee to enhance cost sharing functionality in GMAS, with a release date expected in Winter 2020.

This effort has included multiple outreach sessions with department and school representatives to identify issues, gather ideas, and meet the goals of:

  • Aligning functionality and terminology in GMAS with the Cost Share Policy (it should be noted that there is no change to the policy)

NIH offers extension for childbirth during K99 eligibility

On October 30, 2019, NIH released NOT-OD-20-11, announcing an update to its extension policy on the eligibility window to apply for a K99. Effective immediately, "NIH will approve an extension of one year for childbirth within the 4 year K99 eligibility window."  For more information, please read the full notice: NOT-OD-20-011 NIH Extension Policy for Eligibility Window for Pathway to Independence Awards (K99/R00) .
